1. Merry Christmas garland
A quick and easy Christmas garland to hang over the mantle piece or around the house. All you need is scrapbook paper, adhesive chipboard letters, mini clothes pegs and twine.
2. Melted peppermint lolly ornaments
Forget about the candy canes! You’ll need peppermint lollies, metal cookie cutters, parchment paper, wooden skewer and ribbon to make these lolly ornaments.
3. Christmas ornament wreath
Make use of those leftover Christmas ornaments! You’ll need a wire coat hanger, about 80 ornaments, pliers, a glue gun, thick wired ribbon and skinny craft wire to tie your bow.
4. Paddle pop sticks snowflakes
Lay out your design/s and then use the hot glue gun to attach the sticks. Lastly, paint the designs and use removable mounting tabs or a ribbon to hang them on your door or wall.
5. Christmas cone trees
Cone trees are a quick, easy and cheap decoration for around the home or as a centrepiece for Christmas day. Create a cone from poster board, light cardboard or decorative paper and glue the paper cone in place. Then use a glue gun to attach just about anything to the tree – feathers, glitter, fabric, etc.
6. Twine decorative balls
Dip twine or yarn in white glue and wrap around a balloon in the size/shape you want the decoration to be, then let it dry to become stiff before bursting the balloon. These yarn balls can be kept in bowls for display on tables, made into a garland or hung on the Christmas tree.
7. Christmas tree napkins
Jazz up this year’s table setting by turning plain napkins into Christmas trees. All you need are perfectly square green napkins.
8. Pine cone Christmas trees
Dot these pine cone Christmas trees around the house or use them as centrepieces on your table. Paint a few mini terracotta pots and the tips of each scale on the pine cones, then just add the star and you’re done!
9. Wooden clothes peg snowflake ornaments
If you don’t have a stash of wooden clothes pegs, they can be found at any dollar store and easily transformed into snowflake ornaments for the Chrissy tree.
10. Easy centrepiece
This centrepiece idea is simple, inexpensive and basically only has one step! You can then add tea lights to float on top.
